Britney Spears, the pop icon known for her electrifying performances and chart-topping hits, has opened up about her personal journey towards regaining confidence and consistency.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on July 13, the 42-year-old singer shared a nostalgic dance video from September 2023 and candidly reflected on her life post-divorce.

In her Instagram post, Spears expressed the need to slow down and reassess the past year. She mentioned experiencing "false confidence" after her divorce from Sam Asghari, to whom she was married for over a year.

Despite showcasing some of her best work with Madonna's hits like "Ray of Light" and "I'm Addicted," Spears admitted there were numerous "WTF moments."

"I guess I need to brace myself and slow down and recap the past year because I think I had a false confidence after my divorce,

Spears, who finalized her divorce from Asghari in May 2023, took to Instagram to apologize for not being perfect. She acknowledged the need to adjust and possibly undergo more therapy sessions to regain her former confidence and consistency.

"I literally need to go back and adjust and possibly do a couple more therapy sessions," Spears wrote. "I apologize for not being perfect and I will try and get confidence and consistency back like I used to have."

Reflecting on Her Marriage

The separation from Asghari was due to "irreconcilable differences that have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage," according to court documents, Asghari described their time together as a blessing.

“It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on,” Asghari said in March. He emphasized the importance of maintaining respect and positivity about their shared past.

“I’ve always hated people leaving a certain relationship — and at some point, they told each other they love each other and they sat at the same table and ate food so I never understood when people part ways and they talk badly about each other," he added.

"That's something I'm never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that's always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life."

In a caption accompanying her dance video to J Balvin’s track, Spears noted it was her first time dancing in a long while.

"It’s been 9 months since I have danced but I did last night. It’s not very good but I did it," she wrote.
