The heartwarming caption read, “putting this here before my mom tells everyone,” and featured a photo of the couple beaming, with Roberts proudly displaying her engagement ring.
The engagement announcement subtly references a previous incident involving Roberts' mother, Kelly Cunningham. Earlier this year, Cunningham posted a photo of Roberts' 3-year-old son, Rhodes, whom she shares with ex-partner Garrett Hedlund, without prior notice.
Roberts humorously addressed this on her Instagram Stories on February 9, resharing the photo with the caption, “When your mom posts your son’s face without asking but you love them both so whatever.”
