John Cena, the celebrated 16-time WWE world champion, has revealed that next year’s WrestleMania will mark his farewell. During WWE’s Money in the Bank live event in Toronto, Cena made a surprise appearance, clad in a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “The Last Time is Now.” The crowd’s cheers quickly turned to boos as they realized Cena was there to announce his retirement tour.

“Why am I here? Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE,”

Cena declared, eliciting a raucous response from the audience. He went on to explain his timing: “Because it’s ‘Money in the Bank,’ the ultimate symbol of opportunity. And this farewell does not end tonight — it is filled with opportunities.” Cena highlighted WWE’s historic moment, including Monday Night Raw’s move to Netflix. Alongside these “firsts,” he shared his upcoming “lasts”.

“The 2025 Royal Rumble will be my last. The 2025 Elimination Chamber will be my last. And I’m here tonight to announce that in Las Vegas, WrestleMania 2025 will be the last I compete in.”

As the crowd chanted “Thank you, Cena,” the emotional wrestler expressed gratitude: “Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years. Thank you so much always for your voice because it’s really loud, and your honesty because it’s beautifully brutal.”

Cena’s legacy extends beyond wrestling. Since joining WWE in 2001, he has held the WWE Championship 13 times and the world Heavyweight Championship three times. His Hollywood success includes roles in films like “Bumblebee,” “Blockers,” and the Fast & Furious franchise.

In 2025, WrestleMania 41 will bid farewell to an icon who has left an indelible mark on the wrestling world. John Cena’s last match will be a historic moment, echoing both beginnings and endings in the WWE universe.
