Shah Rukh Khan, often hailed as the "King of Bollywood," has revealed the factors he considers before accepting an offer to debut in a Hollywood film.

Despite his monumental success in the Indian film industry, with over 100 films to his name since his 1988 debut, Khan acknowledges that he isn’t in a position to be overly selective or make demands. Yet, certain conditions must be met before he takes the significant step of entering Hollywood.

Khan has admitted that he’s not entirely comfortable with the idea of imposing conditions on Hollywood roles. However, he believes there are crucial elements that must be aligned before he takes such a leap.

“I don't think I'm in a position to choose and set conditions, but if the opportunity arises—I hope my English is good enough,” Khan told Variety. “I don’t want to sound arrogant, but the role should align with the status that Indian audiences have given me.”

Shah Rukh Khan explained why he feels the need to ensure that any Hollywood role he accepts reflects his standing in the Indian film industry. Throughout his illustrious career, he has garnered immense appreciation and support from his fans in India.

Many of his films have explored themes of national identity, relationships within the Indian diaspora, and various social, racial, gender, and religious issues. This support has established Khan as one of the most significant figures in Asian cinema.

Given his remarkable stature, Khan hopes to maintain this esteemed status if he ever ventures into Hollywood. However, he candidly admits that there hasn’t been a formal offer yet for him to act in Hollywood, and he isn’t actively pursuing one.

“There is a certain respect I must maintain when taking on any role, whether it’s in a Hindi film, South Indian film, Marathi film, French film, or Hollywood film,” Khan explained. “So far, I haven't been offered such a role. I don’t have an agent in Los Angeles, and to be honest, I’m not looking for one.”

Despite the allure of Hollywood, Shah Rukh Khan’s ambitions extend beyond just making a mark in Western cinema. He is deeply passionate about bringing Indian films to a global audience, with the same level of recognition and viewership that Hollywood blockbusters enjoy.

Khan’s dream is to see Indian films reach massive audiences worldwide, even if his role in such projects is a small one. “My dream is for Indian films to be viewed by the same number of people as big Hollywood films,” Khan shared. “I just want stories from India to be accepted globally, and hopefully, I can play a small part in that.”

Shah Rukh Khan remains one of the most popular and beloved actors, not just in Bollywood but also internationally. Recently, he was honored at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, receiving an achievement award on Saturday (August 10).
